On Saturday 16 October, Valdestillas will once again dress up in period costume to welcome the visit of Emperor Charles V.
Thus, from 18:30, the historical re-enactment of the arrival of Charles V is scheduled to be staged. The procession will make a route from the Cristo del Amparo hermitage to the Plaza de la Constitución. Once there, the re-enactment and naming of the Royal Innkeeper will take place, which this year will go to the Cristóbal de Mondragón Historical Re-enactment Association for the work they have been doing to disseminate and promote the value of history.
Carlos V, A night in Valdestillas' has a programme that will take place during the day on Saturday, full of activities for all ages, including the life of a historic camp of a 16th century army, children's archery and shield making workshops, falconry exhibitions with flying birds, children's attractions and a Renaissance market with traditional and artisan products.
Finally, there will also be other activities such as the launching of arrows by the Royal Guard of Corps Archers from the balcony of the Town Hall after the end of the parade, as well as a dance and fire show which, together with the fireworks, will put the finishing touch to the Renaissance day.
