VIII CENTENARY OF CATHEDRAL OF BURGOS
Description

The VIII Centenary of the Cathedral Foundation. Burgos 2021 was created with the aim of uniting the city of Burgos around the celebration of the 8th Centenary of the Cathedral.

This initiative is associated with a calendar of activities and projects of a cultural and social nature that will run until 2022.

With regard to the year 2021, cultural activities such as exhibitions, concerts or conferences are planned, in order to celebrate the eight centuries of history of the Cathedral of Burgos. Among them, and in more detail, musical performances will be held in the chapel of Los Condestables, mainly featuring artists and musicians from the Community.

Likewise, the Regional Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Junta de Castilla y León will participate in a solemn mass in the Cathedral, which will be held on 20 July and will include performances by the Burgos Symphony Orchestra, the Orfeón Burgalés and the Community of Santo Domingo de Silos, of Gregorian chant; as well as an exhibition on the Castilian language under the name 'Don Quixote, the great Cervantine parody', at the Fórum Evolución Burgos; and two concerts by the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, inside and around the Cathedral.
